My name is Kristine Swier and I am thrilled to be working with you and your family for the 2022-2023 school year! This will be a very special year in your child’s education and I am looking forward to sharing it with your child. I am very excited to be teaching my eighth year at Kingsland Elementary, my 11 year in education. My mission as an educator is to establish the best possible learning environment for my students, instilling the love of learning in them. I believe in using strategies in my teaching that will help make learning more meaningful, purposeful, and lasting. I will guide your child to become a critical thinker, problem-solver, and lifelong learner in this ever-changing world. My goal for children is for them to enjoy the adventures they encounter along their learning path. I would love to share a little information about myself. I attended Winona State University where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and my minor in Child Advocacy. During my time in Winona, I spent 5 years as a PCA, and DSP for a local company and intern at Matty's Place, Child advocacy center. I spent 3 years in the Title One program in Lanesboro, MN as an intervention teacher before coming to Kingsland. I graduated with my Masters from Saint Mary University in Learning Design and Technology in 2021. My husband is also a teacher at Stewartville middle school. We have two daughters, 7 and 3 years of age and a son that was born this past summer. We love living in Spring Valley and being a part of this community. In my non-teaching time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going out on the boat, playing board games, reading a good book, hiking, camping, swimming, and traveling. |
