What is Title I? Title I is a program that gives students small group instruction in reading and math. Our Title I staff consists of two teachers and one paraprofessional. At times we work with students in their homeroom classroom, but typically we bring them to our classroom for a small group lesson and practice. At any point in the school year, you may receive a permission slip for your child to join our small groups. Students may also "exit" our small groups when they've learned skills they were once missing. Students do not receive a grade in their Title I class, but we do monitor their progress using programs, such as: FastBridge, Action100, and SuccessMaker. Our whole focus is understanding what reading or math skills students need to help them reach their grade level standards. I'm so proud of how hard students work in Title I because they simply want to improve. |
